East End Ajwain Seeds – 6x1kg

Description

E.E. Ajwain Seeds: pungent carom seeds with a warm, thyme like aroma.

Ajwain, also known as carom seeds, are small ridged seeds with a sharp, savoury flavour close to thyme thanks to their natural aromatic oils. East End Foods packs them as 6×1 kg, which means six 1kg bags to a case, a bulk format aimed at kitchens that season breads, snacks and pickles regularly, and a lasting supply for keen home cooks. A little goes a long way, so the seeds keep well over time.

Key Features

• Six 1kg packs per case, strong value against small retail jars
• Distinctive thyme like, peppery aroma that lifts breads and fried snacks
• A traditional addition to parathas, pakoras, dals and pickles
• Often used in small amounts for its warm, digestive reputation
• Consistent East End Foods quality trusted by South Asian cooks

Serving and cooking: knead ajwain into paratha, puri and bread doughs, add to pakora and bhajia batters, or temper the seeds in hot oil at the start of a dal or vegetable dish. They also flavour pickles, savoury biscuits and spice mixes. Because they are potent, use sparingly and taste as you go.

Storage

keep in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and heat to protect the aromatic oils. Reseal tightly or decant into an airtight jar after opening. Whole seeds hold their flavour longer than ground spice.
