East End Kasuri Methi – 6x1kg

Description

Dried fenugreek leaves that finish curries with a warm, savoury aroma.

Kasoori Methi is dried fenugreek leaf, a finishing herb rather than a base spice. This is the dried leaf from East End Foods in Birmingham. The pack format is 6x1kg, which means six 1kg bags in a case. Because the dried leaves are so light, 1kg is a large amount by volume, so this case size suits kitchens that use methi across many dishes and want plenty in stock.

Key Features

• Six 1kg bags per case, a bulk format by weight that goes a very long way given how light the dried leaf is.
• Warm, savoury and slightly bitter, methi gives curries the aroma many associate with restaurant style dishes.
• A finishing herb that is crushed in and added late, so a little lifts a whole pot.
• Classic in butter chicken, dals, paneer dishes, curry sauces and parathas.

Cooking and Uses: Crush the dried leaves between your palms to release the aroma, then stir them into a curry or dal towards the end of cooking. Fold them into dough for methi paratha, or finish a butter chicken or paneer sauce with a pinch. Use a light hand, as too much can turn a dish bitter.

Storage

Keep in a cool, dry place away from light and moisture, and reseal tightly after use to protect the fragile aroma.
