Heera Black Cardamom provides whole, dark, dried pods in a 50g pack, delivering the deep, smoky and slightly camphorous notes that define hearty South Asian cooking. Unlike sweeter green cardamom, black cardamom is an earthy, savoury spice best suited to robust, slow simmered dishes.
Lightly crush or add whole pods to hot oil at the start of cooking to release their aroma, then simmer into curries, rice and dals. The whole pods are usually removed before serving, or the seeds can be ground into spice blends.
