These are Heera Soya Beans, sold as dried whole beans rather than a ready cooked tin. The 2kg is a single retail pack of dry beans, so you get plenty for repeat cooking and can portion out only what you need. Because they are dried, they must be soaked and then boiled thoroughly before eating, which is the key difference from drain and use tinned beans.
Cooking and Uses: Rinse the beans, then soak in plenty of cold water for several hours or overnight. Drain, cover with fresh water and boil until fully tender before adding to your dish. They suit curries, stews, soups and slow cooked one pots. Cooking times are longer than for many pulses, so allow enough time and follow the pack.
Keep the dry beans in a cool, dry place in a sealed container. Once cooked, cool quickly, refrigerate and use within a couple of days.
A: Yes. As a dried pulse they should be soaked and then boiled thoroughly until tender before eating.
