Daal Makhni takes its name from makhan, meaning butter, and this Shan blend is built for that indulgent, creamy black lentil curry. Every spice is measured into a 100g pack, so you follow the recipe on the box rather than mixing your own. The result is a smooth, comforting dal that suits a special meal at home just as well as a rich side dish in a foodservice kitchen.
Follow the recipe on the pack. Typically you simmer black lentils until very soft, cook them with the masala, onions and tomatoes, then finish with butter or cream for the signature richness and a long, gentle simmer.
Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and reseal the pack after opening to protect the aroma.
