TRS Chana Dal is the split chickpea lentil, supplied here in a 1kg pack. Golden and hearty, it keeps a pleasant bite once cooked and brings a mild, nutty sweetness to dal, curries and snack mixes.
How to cook: Rinse and, ideally, soak for around thirty minutes to an hour. Simmer with water until tender, then finish with a spiced tempering. A pressure cooker cuts the time considerably.
Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight and reseal the pack after opening.
