TRS Mung Beans are the small, whole green beans that sit at the heart of countless South Asian and wider Asian dishes. Presented in a 1kg pack, they have a mild, gently sweet taste and hold their shape well when cooked. They are equally at home simmered into a wholesome dal, added to curries and salads, or sprouted at home for fresh, crunchy shoots.
Cooking: Rinse and, for quicker cooking, soak for a few hours before simmering until tender. Use in dal, stews and curries, or cool and toss through salads. To sprout, soak overnight, then rinse regularly over a couple of days until the shoots appear.
Store in a cool, dry place away from moisture. Once opened, keep the beans in an airtight container to guard against damp and pests.
