Shan Haleem is a recipe mix for haleem, a thick slow cooked dish of wheat, barley, lentils and meat. It is supplied as 12 x 60gm, which is a case of twelve 60g sachets. Unlike a plain spice blend, a haleem mix usually contains cereal grains as well as spices, so it commonly includes wheat and barley. You add your own meat and time and the mix supplies the grains and seasoning.
Cooking and Uses: Cook meat with the mix and water over a long simmer, blend or mash to a thick, smooth consistency, then top with fried onions, ginger, lemon and coriander. Follow the sachet method closely as haleem needs patient cooking.
Keep in a cool dry place out of direct light and reseal opened sachets.
